I used to think the saying "opposites attract" was bs. How could you possibly be with someone who is complete opposite from you? But after being with D, I've come to realize why being with someone opposite of your personality is even better than being with someone just like yourself.
People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A soul mate’s purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life… — EGIn these past 7-8 months that we've been together, I've learned a lot of new things (i.e motorcycles..haha) and I've also changed. One of the best things that D has taught me is to be more vocal about my feelings and to not be scared when I voice them. But it's also because I know how much he loves me and values our relationship that I'm not scared to tell him so we can compromise and fix whatever problem it is.
Anyway, long story short, as much as he makes me super mad and annoys the hell out of me sometimes, he's making me a better person and that's what a relationship should be all about.
